Source: Crawfordsville Daily Journal Thursday Oct 3, 1912

Ladoga, Oct 3 - Word was received here this morning announcing the death of Mrs. Sarah Shannon at the home of her son, Earl Shannon after an illness of 3 weeks which was due to bowel trouble. Her death resulted from a complication of diseases. Her husband has been dead several years. Three sons, David Shannon of Ladoga, and Charley Shannon and Earl Shannon of Greencastle survive as do one sister, Mrs. Cepha Quinley of Ladoga and three brothers, Henry Allen Foster, Wallace Foster and James Foster all three of Ladoga. The late J.N. Foster of Crawfordsville was a brother. Miss Grace Quinley of Crawfordsville is a niece of the deceased and Fred N. and Wallace of Ladoga are nephews. No arrangements have been made as yet. She was a highly respected woman. - kbz

Note: Reasonably certain this gal was Sarah Foster who married William F. Adams 12-10-1863 (Bk 6 p 189) Montgomery County, Indiana. William Adams in turn died of small pox at Lexington KY in the 5th Calvary on April 28, 1864. They had one daughter, Mary probably born not long after his death. Do not know what happened to Mary or why Sarah's obituary does not mention the first husband.
